Sample Writing on Standard1

Develop a rationale for each piece of Evidence that clearly connects to a specific Wisconsin Teacher Standard.

Thoroughly read the definition for each standard and look for key components that should be addressed in the rationale statement. Make an alignment between the specific Knowledge, Skill (Performances), and Disposition statements in the standard and the content of the Evidence.

Rationale statements should contain the following information:

· The name of the Evidence

A clear description of the context for the evidence:

o For what purpose was it developed?
o For what course and/or grade level was it developed?
o Was this a lesson or activity actually taught?
o Explain why the Evidence is important to your development as a teacher.
o Explain what you learned and the competence you gained by completing the evidence.
o How did it impacted student learning?

·

How does the artifact align with specific KSDs in the Standards?
· Note: Just pick the most relevant KSDs, one Knowledge, one Skill and one Disposition for each evidence.
o Relate the KSD back to your evidence and how it relates to it.

All rationales will be completed on the Rationale Worksheet. When all Rationales are written they should be emailed to your instructor at the email address they specify.

Instructor will set a due date for the rationales.

Second Meeting:

Copy and Paste your rationales to each standard, then up load files and link them to the evidences.
Home page should include:
  1. Picture of yourself
  2. Brief Biography-where teach, grade level, subject area, what this program has done for your teaching and students.
